Griffin pledge to charity Remap

remap, charity, corporate social responsibilityDisabled people of all ages can live more independently thanks to Remap, whose innovative approach has impressed media company Griffin Media Solutions resulting in ongoing funding.

“We are delighted to have the support of Griffin Media Solutions,” says David Martin, chief executive of Remap. “As a small charity we are dependent on donations and it makes a big difference to our hardworking volunteers to know they are backed by companies and individuals in the communities they serve.”

Remap’s network of skilled volunteers – many are engineers – design and make equipment free of charge for disabled people, when there is nothing commercially available. Last year Remap helped over 3,500 people increase their independence and improve their quality of life, for example:

  • Making a microphone/amplifier system for five-year old James who has vocal cord palsy;
  • Adapting a wheelchair so Rosie could complete a sponsored climb of Mount Snowdon;
  • Carrying out clever adaptations at a charity shop so wheelchair user Jade could continue to volunteer.

Whether someone needs a piece of equipment that isn’t on the market, or to have something adapted, Remap can help.”
