Revenue from catalogue sector continues to trend upwards

The high street continues to experience tough times but it’s a completely different picture for direct mail catalogues.

Epsilon Abacus, who manages the UK’s leading data co-operative, reports that sectors such as gifts, fashion, health & mobility and gardening in particular, all saw strong increases in revenue last year and indicators are positive for this to continue.

Each year Epsilon Abacus produces the Home Shopping Trends Report, available almost exclusively to members of the Epsilon Abacus Alliance. Preliminary results were presented at the Member Insights Day on 28th March.

“Results we are achieving for our clients show that direct mail is a great way of reaching customers,” says Natasha Wills, Account Manager at Griffin Media Solutions. “Having a targeted and relevant direct mail offering continues to be a vital route to market.”

Mark Wareing, Client Services Director at Epsilon Abacus comments:

“Thanks to the recency and GDPR compliant data available to members of the Epsilon Abacus Alliance, our retailers are generally experiencing higher average order values and greater returns from their customers. To enable catalogue mailings to achieve/exceed forecasted return on investment we provide expert data analytics using intelligence only available to our members. It’s a pleasure working with Griffin Media Solutions to provide data solutions for our mutual clients.”
